Youth Educating and Advocating for Voting (YEAV)
An initiative of ADE's Project Vote & Live
About YEAV
Youth Educating and Advocating for Voting (YEAV) is a program initiative of the Alliance for Diversity & Excellence. During the summer of 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, 22 rising and graduated seniors from nine New Orleans public and private schools came together for a four-week "boot camp". They gained essential tools to enable them to lead their peers and communities to fully participate in the democratic process, focusing on attaining greater social and economic justice.

In the 2020 fall election cycle YEAV aims to:
1. Increase New Orleans youth voter turnout by more than 10%
2. Use civic education to convert high-potential voters to highly-consistent voters who reliably turn out for the 2020 election cycle

Mission
YEAV's mission is to educate diverse individuals between 16 and 25 years old on voting rights by providing the tools to be responsible and engaged citizens.

Vision
YEAV envisions all 18 to 25-year-olds in New Orleans will be educated and active voters.
